When you visit Rome, you are visiting a true capital of spirituality. The Vatican Museums offer a unique artistic itinerary, with frescoes by Michelangelo and Raphael in the Papal Apartments and Michelangelo's Last Judgement in the Sistine Chapel. There is also the Pantheon, a temple dedicated to classical deities which was later converted into a Christian basilica.

Rome is like a bridge between the past and the present: art lovers can't miss the Villa Borghese and the Borghese Gallery, with works by artists such as Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Antonio Canova, Caravaggio, Raphael and Titian. It is also worth climbing up to the Quirinal Palace, once the official residence of the Kings of Italy and today the Presidents of the Republic.

While the city is full of museums and architectural wonders, don't miss out on its other attractions. One of the activities is horse-riding in Rome: among the enchanting routes (which you can also do on foot) is the Appia Antica, where you can immerse yourself in nature and explore archaeological wonders at the same time.

From Ciampino Airport, you can either take a bus, or take a bus to the train stop (approx. €1) and then take the train. The bus to the centre costs between 4 and 5 euros (suburban buses are almost twice as cheap)
What to do. We recommend a visit to the Vatican City, the world's smallest state, located in the western part of Rome. Even if you're not Catholic, it's still worth visiting the country and its museums. Other highlights include the Roman Coliseum, the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the Pantheon. In general, Rome is an ancient city, so it is best to buy a city ticket, which usually includes these attractions.
