Biologinė įvairovė
Borneo sala yra viena iš biologiškai įvairiausių vietų pasaulyje:
– Rūšys: Salos miškai yra namai unikalioms rūšims, tokioms kaip orangutangai, Borneo nykštukinis dramblys, proboscis beždžionės (su ilga nosimi) ir daugybė kitų gyvūnų bei augalų, kurių nerasi niekur kitur pasaulyje.
– Atogrąžų miškai: Čia auga vieni seniausių pasaulyje miškų, kurie egzistuoja daugiau nei 140 milijonų metų. Šie miškai yra labai svarbūs pasaulio ekosistemai.
Geografinis išsidėstymas
– Dalijasi tarp trijų valstybių: Borneo yra unikali tuo, kad sala yra padalinta tarp trijų šalių – Malaizijos, Indonezijos ir Brunėjaus.
– Malaizijai priklauso dvi valstijos – Saravakas ir Sabahas.
– Indonezijos dalis užima apie 73% salos teritorijos (vadinama Kalimantanu). – Brunėjus užima mažą, bet ekonomiškai stiprią dalį salos.
Kultūrų įvairovė
-Etninės grupės: Saloje gyvena daugiau nei 50 vietinių etninių grupių, tokių kaip dayakai, ibanai ir kadazanai. Kiekviena grupė turi unikalią kalbą, tradicijas ir amatus.
-Tradiciniai namai: Daugelis vietinių bendruomenių gyvena ilguose namuose („longhouses”), kurie vienu metu talpina kelias šeimas.

Aplinkosaugos iššūkiai. Nors Borneo išlieka gamtos lobiu, ji susiduria su grėsmėmis: -Miškų kirtimas: Dėl palmių aliejaus pramonės ir medienos kirtimo, salos ekosistema yra stipriai paveikta.
-Gyvūnų nykimas: Dėl buveinių praradimo daugelis unikalių rūšių tampa nykstančiomis.
Unikalūs lankytini objektai – Kinabalu kalnas (Malaizija): UNESCO pasaulio paveldo objektas. – Mulu urvai (Malaizija): Didžiausia požeminė urvų sistema pasaulyje.
-Danumo slėnis: Pasaulyje garsus tyrimų centras, skirtas atogrąžų miškų biologinei įvairovei. Borneo išskirtinumas slypi jo gamtos stebukluose, kultūrų įvairovėje ir svarboje pasaulinei ekosistemai. Kelionė į salą yra kaip kelionė į vieną seniausių ir paslaptingiausių planetos kampelių.
Labuan – tai nedidelė sala Pietryčių Azijoje, esanti netoli Borneo krantų ir priklausanti Malaizijai. Ji yra žinoma dėl savo unikalaus derinio tarp istorinių, ekonominių ir turistinių aspektų. Labuan sala garsėja balto smėlio paplūdimiais ir turtinga povandenine gamta. Sala yra populiari tarp narų dėl savo laivų nuolaužų (shipwreck diving) vietų, kurios laikomos vienomis geriausių Azijoje. Labuan muziejus siūlo susipažinti su salos istorija, kultūra ir gamta. Peace Park – Taikos parkas, skirtas karo aukoms pagerbti ir taikai propaguoti.
